Overview

Position:  Legal Support Manager

 

Location: U.S. Remote- Must be able to work Pacific time as necessary.

 

Pay: 85K-115K Depending on experience

 

Position Summary:

The Legal Support Manager – Corporate is responsible for managing the Corporate Governance and Licensing Support teams within the NAF Legal Department, as well as managing related data, processes and staff that support such functions and related functions. The Legal Support Manager – Corporate will work with other Legal Support Managers in managing the team of paralegals and other staff that support the legal needs of the NAF Companies, and will report to the VP, Legal.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the Corporate Governance function, including managing processes, data and staff that handle entity formation, DBAs, state filings and renewals, and legal notifications;
  • Managing the Licensing Support function, including managing the processes, data and staff that assist in the renewal and reporting for company licenses across the NAF organization;
  • Managing requests for information, due diligence and other inquiries from investors, insurers and master servicers relating to the NAF Companies;
  • In managing the functions above:
    • Managing the receipt and capture of data in Corporate Governance and Licensing Support systems;
    • Obtaining and managing data required to satisfy due diligence and other requests;
    • Working with the Legal & Compliance Systems and Solutions team to manage the Corporate Governance and Licensing systems that are used to track and manage data and tasks for such functions;
    • Coordinating the receipt, assignment and completion of information requests in a ticketing system;
  • Managing a team of paralegals and other support staff;
  • Documenting processes through policies and procedures, and training staff;
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance processes and/or systems for accuracy, efficiency or improved service to the Legal Department or other business units;
  • Monitoring pending deadlines and escalating as appropriate;
  • Coordinating with other departments to obtain information required to respond to requests or submit reports and documentation to governmental entities and other organizations;
  • Performing QC of Corporate Governance, Licensing Support and other responsibilities to ensure that team members perform duties in accordance with the NAF Legal Department’s quality standards;
  • Reporting to NAF Legal management on the performance of the functions and staff managed; and
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing staff as direct reports or on projects/initiatives, including performing QC on staff members’ work
  • Attorney or paralegal preferred
  • High comfort level using custom or proprietary software, such as ticketing systems and Sharepoint/Azure tables
  • Experience ensuring accuracy and quality of company legal data
  • High skill level with Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in the mortgage industry preferred
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Sense of urgency
  • Professional, interpersonal skills with a strong sense of accountability and work ethic
  • Positive and a good team player
  • Ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
