Position: Financial Analyst

 

Location: U.S. Remote

 

Salary range: $70k to $85k depending on experience + full time benefits

 

Employment Type: Full-Time

 

Position Summary:  We are seeking a Finance Analyst with strong accounting knowledge and 2–4 years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, or accounting. This role blends financial planning with deep accounting responsibilities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, variance analysis, and compliance. Candidates with mortgage or lending industry experience will be highly valued, as you will support both FP&A functions and the accounting needs unique to mortgage operations.

 

Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly channel and segment reporting to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Support monthly corporate and branch close activities, including allocations between channels and within branches, with a focus on improving branch close timing.
• Conduct variance and reconciliation analysis across branch, channel, and corporate activity to ensure consistent reporting.
• Utilize SQL and Power BI to build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reports that provide clear visibility into profitability and business drivers.
• Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams to bridge the gap between financial reporting and business performance.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and executive-level reporting on financial and accounting performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is a plus).
  • 2–4 years of experience in corporate accounting, audit, or FP&A, ideally within mortgage, lending, or financial services.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Power BI for data querying, analysis, and visualization.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, accounting close processes, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with ERP and reporting systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Hyperion, Workday).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling).
  • Experience with Snowflake or other data visualization tools is a strong plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify accounting discrepancies and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate financial and accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
