Position: Product Owner - Intranet
Salary: $110K - $130K/yr d.o.e.
Location: Remote OK - If living within 31 miles of Tustin, CA or Austin, TX will need to be able to work a hybrid schedule
Position Summary:
Are you passionate about creating a seamless and engaging digital employee experience? As the Product Owner for our Intranet, you will be the central driver for how our employees connect with information, resources, and each other. You will own the roadmap and execution of our intranet platforms, including SharePoint and Workvivo. This role requires a blend of product management discipline, content strategy expertise, and a technical understanding of content management systems (CMS) to build a truly world-class digital workplace at New American Funding.
1. Execute the product vision for the company intranet. Translate the strategy into a prioritized backlog of user stories and technical requirements for features, enhancements, and content updates.
2. Develop and enforce a comprehensive content strategy. Advise business units on best practices for content creation, management, and placement, recommending the optimal platform (e.g., SharePoint for documents vs. Workvivo for engagement) to meet their needs.
3. Oversee the day-to-day management and long-term roadmap for our intranet platforms, including SharePoint, Workvivo and other CMS/engagement platforms. Ensure platforms are well-maintained, secure, and effectively integrated.
4. User Experience & Design: Champion a user-centric approach to the intranet. Work with stakeholders and use your knowledge of HTML/CSS and design principles to enhance the visual appeal, usability, and overall user experience of the digital workplace.
5. Partner with key stakeholders across departments, including Marketing, HR, IT, and various business lines, to understand their needs and ensure the intranet effectively supports company-wide initiatives and information dissemination.
6. Define and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for user engagement, content effectiveness, and platform health. Use this data to drive continuous improvement and inform the product roadmap.
7. Serve as the subject matter expert on content management systems and best practices. Provide guidance and light technical support to content creators and site owners.
1. 3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Digital Product Manager, or a similar role focused on managing an enterprise intranet, website, or digital experience platform.
2. Deep experience with one or more Content Management Systems (CMS). Direct experience managing and configuring SharePoint and/or social intranet platforms like Workvivo is a strong plus.
3. Proficiency in HTML and CSS is highly desirable for making design enhancements and providing advanced support to content editors.
4. Proven experience in developing and implementing content governance models, information architecture, and content lifecycle management.
5. A strong understanding of UX principles and a demonstrated ability to create intuitive, user-friendly digital experiences and content.
6. Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience working in an agile environment.
7. Experience navigating a large enterprise environment and managing the needs of diverse stakeholder groups.
8. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
9. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate a clear vision, influence stakeholders, and lead cross-functional efforts without direct authority.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
