Overview

Job Title: SEO Director

Salary:  $120K - $130K/yr d.o.e.

Location: Remote OK - If living within 31 miles of Tustin, CA or Austin, TX will need to be able to work a hybrid schedule

 

Summary:

New American Funding (NAF) is hiring an experienced SEO Director to drive organic growth. The SEO Director will serve as a senior leader in the marketing organization, partnering with executives to influence and evolve NAF’s digital growth strategy through SEO. They will oversee NAF’s SEO strategy, user experience optimization, technical and AI-driven SEO initiatives, link building, and keyword strategy. The goal is to enhance organic acquisition, improve visibility across all search experiences, and leverage emerging AI-powered search technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage SEO platforms and analytics tools (e.g., Google Trends, SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, and AI-powered SEO software) to generate insights, monitor performance, and guide overall SEO strategy.
  • Provide strategic insights to editorial teams from keyword research, Google Trends, and social listening to optimize content and improve performance.
  • Enhance editorial and SEO results through keyword planning, on-page optimization, and historical data analysis, including support for event-driven content planning.
  • Drive organic performance and lead generation for NAF.com through keyword and query research, competitor and gap analysis, and optimization across both traditional and AI-powered search.
  • Develop and test content promotion strategies in collaboration with editorial, social, and creative teams, utilizing a broad spectrum of digital tools and channels.
  • Partner cross-functionally to build content strategies and initiatives that improve visibility in AI-powered search experiences (Google SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.).
  • Manage external relationships with third-party agencies, platforms, and vendors to expand SEO capabilities.
  • Research, implement, and advise on emerging trends in generative AI, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), structured content, search intent modeling, and workflow automation.
  • Collaborate with Martech and Development teams in sprint planning to ensure SEO requirements are prioritized, implemented, and tested effectively.
  • Ensure all NAF sites and pages are technically optimized for mobile, AI-enhanced search engines, and traditional platforms, focusing on information architecture, schema management, semantic HTML, page speed, and crawl/indexing performance.
  • Deliver comprehensive reporting on production progress, upper funnel demand capture, rank positioning, AI visibility, full-funnel performance, and conversion outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing or equivalent from an accredited 4-year university.
  • At least 7 years of SEO experience, coupled with a similar duration in marketing, particularly in online marketing and social media. Experience in SEO/SMO/SMM digital analytics is also required.
  • Proficiency in Google Search Console and Google Analytics is essential. A working knowledge of HTML, CSS, schema.org, and JavaScript, understanding their development constraints.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, tools (SEO Scout, Semrush), and best practices in SEO and SEM. Knowledge of mortgage, financial services, and/or real estate is preferred.
  • Experience with email management software and social media optimization engines. Project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience reporting on and analyzing campaign results
