Overview

Position: Sr. Product Owner - Mobile NAF Hub

Salary:  $130K - $150K/yr d.o.e.

Location: Remote- Hybrid if within 31 miles from Austin, TX or Tustin, CA- two days on-site.

Overview:

The Sr Product Owner partners with a Product Manager to deliver a product strategy through the execution of a roadmap. The Product Manager is responsible for product strategy and roadmap creation while the Product Owner is more execution focused and responsible for creating, prioritizing, and collaboratively delivering user stories that align with a prioritized roadmap feature. The Sr Product Owner collaborates with an Engineering, QA, and Product Design team to ensure successful product delivery. This Product Owner position will focus on building a business-to-consumer Mobile application.

 

Responsibilities

  • Partners with Product Managers and Business Stakeholders to understand New American Funding’s business-to-consumer Mobile strategy.
  • Collaborates with Product Managers and Designers to translate the Mobile product roadmap into the creation of well-defined requirements and user stories.
  • Expertly writes and refines user stories with clear business and technical requirements as well as acceptance criteria and a definition of done.
  • Builds, prioritizes, maintains, and grooms the product backlog.
  • Communicates the product vision, value proposition, and user story requirements to the Engineering and QA teams to ensure an optimal solution and delivery plan.
  • Builds and maintains a running 2 to 3 sprints worth of work in the product backlog.
  • Identifies and manages business and technical dependencies; partnering with other Product Owners where needed.
  • Articulates a clear goal for every sprint.
  • Plays an active role in mitigating risks and impediments to ensure the successful completion of the sprint goal.
  • Effectively communicates the feature and user story solution and status with Product and Business Stakeholders.
  • Attends deployment calls and ensures successful validation, assisting QA with testing where needed.
  • Assists with maintaining the health of the product by addressing any defects and production issues promptly in partnership with the Engineering and QA teams.
  • Works in an Agile environment and attends all Agile ceremonies, supporting the Scrum Master as needed.
  • Partners with the Scrum Master, Engineering team, and QA team to help drive cross-functional team improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of  5 years in Product Ownership.
  • Previous experience in Mobile Application Product Ownership.
  • Previous experience in the Mortgage or Financial Services industry is highly preferred.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • A solid understanding of the Product Management Lifecycle.

Work Authorization: Must be able to verify identity and employment eligibility to work in the U.S.
