Overview

Position: Home Retention Loss Mitigation Supervisor – Intake and Default Reporting

 

Location: Austin, TX. or Remote

 

Pay: $40k to $70k annually DOE

 

Position Summary:

The Home Retention Loss Mitigation Supervisor for Intake and Default Reporting is responsible for a group up to 6 Home Retention Associates and reports to the SVP of Home Retention Loss Mitigation. The Home Retention Loss Mitigation group assists borrowers by processing applications to review for alternatives to foreclosure and monthly/daily reporting of status of loans in default to investors/insurers.   The Home Retention Loss Mitigation Supervisor is responsible for hiring and staffing their group, coaching and training staff, establishing goals, ensuring that work is completed according to established standards and procedures, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  1. Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Supervises daily operations of Home Retention Associates, ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures, applicable government and investor guidelines and ensuring that loss mitigation reviews are conducted timely and accurately;
    2. Coordinates work activities to achieve the volume expected to meet operational requirements;
    3. Provides feedback to senior management on issues negatively impacting compliance with servicing guidelines and regulations;
    4. Documents Associate trends, errors, skill deficiencies and provides feedback;
    5. Completes and maintains individual performance plans for each direct report; meets regularly to set goals and provide training to ensure personal and professional development;
    6. Coaches and trains staff utilizing expertise and guidance on operational issues;
    7. Receives, answers and resolves escalated issues from associates and customers;
    8. Works with SVP of Home Retention Loss Mitigation to develop strategies that lead to goal achievement on acknowledging and processing applications, accurate underwriting decisions, and portfolio timeline compliance. Ensures compliance with internal procedures and processing timeframes;
    9. Managing borrower application process to determine “reason for delinquency”, occupancy status, and ability to pay, to accurately review for workouts, or alternatives to foreclosure.
    10. Manages production and exception reports for management and employee feedback
    11. Is a “subject matter expert” (SME) on mortgage servicing loss mitigation options and reporting requirements to agencies regarding delinquency status.
    12. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state mortgage laws, regulations, investor requirements and CFPB Servicing Guidelines

Qualifications

Desired Competencies:

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills;
  5. Ability to work under pressure and stress and respond to inquiries with tact, diplomacy and patience;
  6. Has knowledge of commonly used terminology, concepts and practices and procedures within the mortgage industry;
  7. Knowledge of MSP, with at least (2) years recent experience working with MSP;
  8. Good business writing and math skills;
  9. Analytical and organized;
  10. Strong PC skills. Must be proficient in MS Windows, MS Outlook and MS Office Suite. Experience with MS Visio, MS SharePoint and MS Project, a plus.

 

Desired Education/Experience:

  1. 3+ years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: Mortgage Banking, Default Reporting, Loss Mitigation, Bankruptcy and Foreclosure processes;
  2. Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions;
  3. Good working knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, USDA, FHA/VA workout requirements;
  4. Good working knowledge of CFPB Servicing Guidelines and state regulations related to Loss Mitigation practices.
  5. History of reliable attendance;
  6. Must be able to pass background investigation;

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
