Job Title: Capital Markets Technical Analyst

Location: Austin, TX (remote/hybrid – 2 days a week if located within 30 miles of Austin office)

 

Compensation: up to 100K, DOE

 

Job Summary:
As a Capital Markets Technical Analyst at New American Funding, you will be a key member of our Capital Markets team, supporting operations, data analysis, profitability, and insights to optimize our Capital Markets operations. Your role will involve providing technical support, software documentation and training, quality assurance, database management, data analysis, monitoring market trends, and conducting research. You will collaborate interdepartmentally with sales, administrators, finance, human resources, and other teams within the organization to enhance profitability and manage risk within our Capital Markets division.

Responsibilities

  • Database Management: Manage and maintain databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and accuracy, including updates and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Support: Serve as the first point of contact for end-user support for internal capital markets reporting and database systems. Escalate issues to appropriate contact points as needed to ensure issue resolution.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar platforms to provide actionable insights and performance tracking.
  • SQL Query Development: Create and optimize SQL queries to support data extraction, analysis, and reporting for the Capital Markets team.
  • Documentation Creation and Maintenance: Design and build documentation to support software systems within the Capital Markets department, including pricing and product engine documentation and internal corporate reporting tools. This includes job aids, software release notes, policies, procedures, and comprehensive user guides.
  • Training: Provide regular training sessions to end users on internal capital markets reporting tools and database systems. Gather feedback and enhancement requests from end users for future development planning.
  • Quality Assurance: Support the development and maintenance of internal capital markets reporting and database systems through enhancement testing and completion of QA scenarios. Ensure data accuracy and integrity prior to release.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with teams across the organization, including sales, finance, risk management, and IT, to ensure interdepartmental success and alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, IT, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the mortgage industry, with 3+ years of experience in capital markets / secondary marketing.
  • Ability to provide technical support and software training to end users from all levels within an organization.
  • Competency in designing and completing comprehensive software and data quality assurance scenarios.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to synthesize complex information, interpret results and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance considerations related to capital markets activities.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow within the organization.
