Overview

Position: Home Retention Quality Assurance Analyst 


Location: Austin, TX. or Remote if outside of 30 miles from Austin, TX.

 

Pay range:  $27-28/hr. If active NMLS licensed, pay will be $27.50-28.50/hr.

 

Position Summary: This position is responsible for a variety of quality assurance functions to ensure we follow regulatory and investor underwriting and servicing requirements and guidelines. Incumbent will perform oversight, testing and reporting on various functions within the Home Retention (Loss Mitigation) division.

Responsibilities

  1. Calculate front and back-end debt to income ratio
  2. Verify occupancy, hardship and income with required documentation provided by borrower
  3. Perform a thorough analysis to ensure the quality of each income underwrite and to determine compliance with Company and Investor/Insurer guidelines for approved/denied workout options
  4. Determine and communicate needed conditions to properly document the file (reason for default letter, updated pay stubs, bankruptcy papers, etc.).
  5. Complete system tasks as required to maintain compliance with Company and Investor/Insurer guidelines.
  6. Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the customer’s experience and ensure compliance within Loss Mitigation operations
  7. Handle critical deadlines and projects as assigned by the supervisor.
  8. Communicates to management opportunities to streamline processes and provide a better customer experience
  9. Willing to assume other duties/projects as assigned and manage responsibilities with little to no supervision, ensuring deadlines are met.

Qualifications

Desired Competencies:
1. Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills;
2. Ability to work under pressure and stress and respond to inquiries with tact, diplomacy and patience;
3. Has knowledge of commonly used Underwriting practices such as determining debt-to-income and loan-to-value ratios.
4. Knowledge of MSP, with at least (1) years recent experience working with MSP; useful but not required

Knowledge of Income Underwriting principles
5. Good business writing skills;
6. Good business math skills;
7. Analytical and organized;
8. Strong PC skills. Must be proficient in MS Windows, MS Outlook, and MS Office Suite.

 

Desired Education/Experience:
1. The ideal candidate should have 3+ years' experience in a mortgage default servicing. Mortgage loss mitigation or workout experience preferred;
2. High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred.
3. Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, FHA/VA workout requirements;
4. Knowledge of FDCPA, CFPB Servicing Guidelines and state regulations related to debt collection practices;
5. Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines;
6. Must have demonstrated ability to collaborate and work well with others;
7. History of reliable attendance;
8. Ability to work a schedule that includes occasional weekends; FT schedule working 8 hour shift M-F
9. Must be able to pass background investigation;
10. Demonstrated ability to achieve goals;
