Overview

Job Title: Senior Product Manager - NAF Services

 

Overview:

This role is the primary go-to for the products that they lead. Senior Product Managers are key in the evolution of a product and always have the wellbeing of the product and its users in mind. Owns the strategic vision and direction for the product by identifying potential opportunities; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; developing marketing strategies. Constantly comes up with great new feature ideas and thinks critically about which of them will make the biggest impact. Knows how to measure and interpret the results of your team’s efforts. Loves working on teams, side-by-side with the best engineers and designers. Has ability to manage several efforts at once, operates well under pressure, and works effectively to meet deadlines.

Focus and experience with API development specifically in the Mortgage industry.

Salary:  $155K - $175K/yr d.o.e.

Location: Remote OK - If living within 31 miles of Tustin, CA or Austin, TX will need to be able to work a hybrid schedule

Responsibilities

  • Become an authority on your product area. Understand company goals, customer needs, and business opportunities and determine how API services can help meet and accomplish those business needs and goals.
  • Own the overall vision and Product Strategy for your assigned product(s).
  • Work closely with other Product Managers, Engineering, and other stakeholders in creating an API strategy. Drive the production and development of API services in alignment with the strategy and according to end user needs.
  • Work with Product Directors, Engineering leaders, architects, and key business stakeholders to set product vision and direction and drive and manage expectations.
  • Understand the various use cases for the APIs and work with Engineering to ensure the APIs can be used and integrated well by various platforms, applications, websites within the NAF ecosystem and by 3rd party vendors and partners that work with NAF.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and QA to ensure and maintain the health of the APIs and address any defects and production issues promptly.
  • Understand the various users of the APIs, identify and prioritize pain points and solutions.
  • Create and maintain the product roadmap and set priorities with consideration to business impact, risks, compliance requirements, effort, dependencies, etc.
  • Define, monitor, and improve system metrics and KPIs.
  • Work closely with Product Owners and Engineering to develop story/feature readiness.
  • Partner up with Engineering and QA to provide superior service and experience to API users.
  • Drive execution against our plan in collaboration with Engineering and QA: making trade-offs, anticipating staffing needs, risks, and ensuring frequent and clear communication.
  • Help team with removing impediments and blockers where you can aid.
  • Ensure stakeholders and business leaders are kept informed through effective engagements and communications.
  • Take initiative to ensure clear API documentation and socialization across all API users.
  • Play a large role in the release process to ensure a successful release.
  • Work hand in hand with scrum masters to ensure team readiness and remove ambiguity regarding stories and features for sprint planning, sizing, sprint completions, demos to business, and meeting release dates.
  • Ensure that usage and reporting is available while tracking and working towards ROI goals.
  • Present new ideas, tools, and resources to improve the product evolution process.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all team messages, comments, and emails to ensure that development continues to move forward.
  • Work closely with NAF legal team to ensure that our product is continuing to stay compliant.
  • Step outside of the comfort zone to learn new skill sets that pertain to our product team needs.
  • Maintain a positive and excited attitude so your team feeds off that energy.
  • Do not wait to be approached by business, always come to business first.
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements and appraising new product ideas and/or product changes.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Expectations are not limited to the above.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a Product Manager
  • Strong background and experience working with APIs and backend services.
  • Familiarity and/or experience working with Encompass.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
  • Prior experience in Mortgage is strongly preferred
