Overview

Position:  Sr Director of Product Management

Seeking a dynamic individual who is experienced with driving product execution and strategy through team leadership.  A proven leader who partners with Engineering and Design leadership to ensure products execute with excellence.  This role is a people leader who is adept at coaching Product Managers and Product Owners and helping them set Vision, Build Roadmaps, and strong Value Propositions for their products.  You will work with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives to improve our product portfolio and be the keystone between business, communications, security, research, engineering, QA, and architecture. We are looking for Product Management Leaders to help improve product alignment strategy across the company and to quickly generate value through the product and business lifecycle. There are three main components to the role: providing clear product strategy, growing and leading exceptional teams, and driving organizational focus and alignment on priorities. 

 

*Mortgage experience in building Origination technology products (LOS, POS, B2B & Consumer Experience) is Mandatory.*

Salary:  $175 - $220K/yr d.o.e.

Location:  Remote/ hybrid two days a week if you reside within 30 miles of Tustin, CA or Austin, TX area

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and develop a talented, diverse, equitable and inclusive teams of Product Managers and Product Owners.
  • Create, assess, update, and communicate a clear product vision and strategy.
  • Work with cross functional leaders to remove roadblocks.
  • Grow to understand the company value stream as well as company’s consumers, partners, internal teams, competitors, and market.
  • Manage multiple priorities, scale teams, and ensure the org is effective, healthy, and set up for success by establishing clear and measurable goals and holding people and teams accountable.
  • Advocate for the product and its value internally with executives and externally as needed.
  • Fluent in Product Management skillset and able to upskill the team.
  • Familiar with Agile.
  • Can identify and instantiate mechanisms to improve the flow of work through the organization.
  • Strong data driven decision making skills with experience in building business cases, measuring progress, and identifying changes to strategy.
  • Strong familiarity with multiple prioritization frameworks (WSJF, RICE, etc) and comfortable leveraging data to support prioritization.
  • Demonstrated and Proven comfort in an Epic -> Feature -> User Story requirements model and understands how to leverage Technical Enablers to drive the path forward.
  • Proven ability to take product to market either internally or externally.
  • In partnership with the VP of Product Management and peers, define and follow robust product development processes and practices, along with other teams in the company.
  • Evaluate growth options, assess new opportunities, and identify bottlenecks. This includes turning strategy into cross-functional aligned tactics.
  • Ensure that the product and executive team have a shared vision of how the product is and evolves in the future.
  • Strong communicator and presentation skills.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in product management. 
  • 5 years or more of leadership experience leading product teams (Product Managers AND Product Owners). 
  • Mortgage Experience is mandatory.
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile frameworks including SCRUM, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Frameworks
  • Experience and confidence presenting to senior and executive leadership.
  • Experience partnering with multiple teams across the organization driving mindful discussions that lead to agreement, crisp decisions, and results.
  • Great people skills in combination with great assertiveness. 
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and coordination skills. 
  • Leadership and entrepreneurship traits that people are comfortable following. 
  • High-level motivational skills for the management of virtual teams. 
  • Ability to interpret results through multiple lenses (e.g. qualitative, financial, and long-term strategic value) to provide a recommendation.
  • Knowledge in the mortgage industry preferred.
  • Process minded individual who has prior experience establishing new processes to support team.
